TEMPERATURES THIS WEEKEND WILL BE A LITTLE COOLER... TEMPERATURES MAY HEAT UP AGAIN TOWARDS MID-WEEK... TROPICAL COLIN MAY IMPACT BERMUDA

A cold front is slowly sinking southward through the Carolinas. The onshore flow north of the front will bring cooler temperatures to Hampton Roads. We should also be rainfree today (Saturday). However, south of the VA/NC border, a shower or storm is possible. If you've been putting off doing yard work (or any other outdoor work) due to the hot and humid weather, this weekend is the time to get out there and get it done. Why? Well, forecasters belive that the heat will be back again by mid-week. I was out of town on Thursday when the thunderstorms moved through Hampton Roads but I understand that they were quite intense in some areas. My rain gauge had about a half inch when I got home late yesterday. I was in Charlottesville, VA on Thursday and they had a very strong thunderstorm move through that area. Power went out in the restaurant that my family was eating in that evening. There was quite a bit of damage to trees from that storm. Tropical Storm Colin is expected to move N-NE towards Bermuda bringing beneficial rainfall to that small island. The storm is currently disorganized but it may strengthen due to the expected relaxation of the shear that has been affecting the storm the past few days. I should have an update on Sunday.
