THE PLEASANT WEATHER CONTINUES THROUGH TUESDAY... AN UNSETTLED WEATHER PATTERN MAY BRING SOME RAIN BY MID-WEEK

One of the most striking things about today's weather map is the lack of precipitation nationwide. This tends to happen more in the month of October than any other month of the year. Temperatures here locally are just about perfect and we will actually be a few degrees warmer today (Sunday) than we were on Saturday. The reason for the warm-up is that the winds will be backing to more of a southwesterly direction, which will bring in the warmer air. Yesterday, we were still under the influence of the huge low pressure system that brought a nor'easter (and snow) to New England. Our nice weather should continue through Tuesday. A front will slowly be moving southeastward and will stall somewhere close by. Waves of low pressure are expected to develop along the front but there is quite a bit of uncertainty with how our weather is going to evolve during the mid to late week period. Will we see just a little rain or will this be a significant rain event for Hampton Roads? Right now, forecasters here locally don't think that this system will amount to much. High pressure is expected to build back in for next weekend. The tropical Atlantic is quiet for now. Have a great day!
