The unseasonably cold weather will ease somewhat as we go through the weekend, but along with the warm up comes a chance of showers. The deep freeze has ended the growing season for most of us here in SE VA. A disturbance that moved through the region early on Friday brought some light snow to the area. NC had accumulating snow which closed schools in Elizabeth City. Here in VA Beach, the snow did not stick but areas just to my west, the snow stuck briefly to grass, roofs, vehicles, etc. No precipitation is expected this weekend and there really isn't much precipitation across the country. A cold front will be approaching on Monday and some models suggest that we will see a good shot of some rain later in the day. I'll have more on our rain chances in my Sunday post.
